WFWIA Golf Day 2018

 In News

Announcing the 4th Annual WFWIA Golf Day at RACV Torquay Golf Club on Monday the 12th November 2018. 8.30AM shot-gun start.

Welcome to the 4th annual WFWIA golf day held at RACV Torquay golf club.

The day has been tremendously successful in past 3 years raising much needed funds to assist the children from Kibera slum in Nairobi to access education.

Education is not a “taken for granted” option for people living in slums throughout the world. Families usually find paying money for school fees, uniforms and books a real struggle and often have to go without food to allow their children to attend school. Many times students are sent home because school fees haven’t been paid. Families in Kibera usually exist on less than $1 or $2 per day. Most families exist on obtaining scarce casual menial jobs such as housekeeping, washing clothes or back-breaking heavy labouring.

All money raised on this golf day is used to educate children. Without an education, children will forever remain in poverty and further harm their own children’s later chances of education.

WFWIA thanks every person involved on this wonderful golf day from the organisers, to the very generous sponsors, to the golfing participants and other helpers on the day. Without sponsors, the golf day could never happen and we would like to publicly recognise our wonderful sponsors for 2018.
